This is Todd Adams' internet hangout. But Todd's website
is not so much about Todd Adams as it is about courage.
We have all seen courage - some of us in real life and some only in movies. When most people think of courage they think of someone saving a life without regard for their own safety. Webster defines courage as "the ability to do something frightening."
There are probably all sorts of examples of courage - and the one I want to tell you about here is the type of courage that Todd Adams and people like him have. The courage to get up in the morning and face another day with what many or most of us would see as overwhelming and crippling disability. The courage to work at doing something meaningful. The courage to look into other's lives without regard for our own limitations and to reach out an extended hand to help and support.
This is the type of courage that comes only with great difficulty and dedication; the type of courage that is not just for one fleeting moment of heroism, but must be renewed and rededicated each and every day of our lives. It is the courage that most of us will never have to call upon. This is the courage that Todd Adams draws upon every day.
When I was approached and asked to help with this project I knew that it was something I wanted to do. But I did not know how to do it. Certainly some of the technical skills required are at my disposal, but I have come to find it requires a lot more than just that. In fact, I'm not sure I posses what really is necessary to project that which needs to be projected - the courage and determination of Todd Adams and people like him.
Regardless, the journey must start at some point. The effort must be made. So even under the very real and probable event that I fall short, please do not let that deter from the message that is being offered here.
This website is under construction - and may be such perpetually. We plan to add items and features as we go along. Todd will be calling the shots and our job is to attempt to translate his wishes into cyberspace.
